Annex Studios

 Watercolor Painting

Students will learn how to work with transparent watercolor and how to achieve the control of the medium and freedom of expression. Principles and elements of art will be explored.

 Instructor: Bruce Bowersock

 Saturdays March 20—April 24            10am-1pm         $95. List of supplies will be given upon registration.

Acrylic Painting

Students will learn how to manipulate this medium to create transparent and opaque works of art. “Fast drying” techniques will discussed. Principles and elements of art will be explored.

Stretch and Sketch

Plein Air is a French term for “in the open air” and that’s where class will be! Discover the works of art to be sketched in and around downtown Charleston in this class.

Instructor: Bruce Bowersock

 Saturdays May 1—June 5     2 –5pm     $95.      List of supplies will be given upon registration.

 Important things to know:

Registration:

Registration deadline is four days prior to the start of a class.  Class size is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  You are enrolled in your class when full payment has been received.

Please don't wait to register for a class- if the minimum is not met, it could be cancelled.  Also, check your calendar carefully- we do not offer make-up classes for missed sessions.

You can register by mail, phone, or in person, checks, cash, and credit/debit cards accepted.  Tax is applied to all classes, please remembre to include it if mailing in a check.

Withdrawal/Cancellation:

A full refund, less a $15 processing fee, will be given to students who withdraw from a course one week prior to start date. No refunds will be given after that time.

Annex Studios reserves the right to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment up to 3 days before the start date. A full refund will given if this occurs.

 It is the students responsibility to provide accurate contact information. Students are encouraged to contact the store before class begins to verify enrollment.

Classes cancelled due to weather, instructors illness or conditions beyond our control will be rescheduled. Classes missed for personal reasons will not be made up & no refunds will be given for missed classes.

Wheel Turning

  Beginning Students will learn how to turn pots on the wheel and   hand build, also learn surface decorations.  Returning students will have mentored studio time.

Ceramics as Fine Art

  An out of the box approach to combining thrown and hand built forms.  Alternative approaches to the wheel, using the wheel as another tool for pottery making.  The class will focus on how you think about the form as hot to create it.  Should have rudimentary throwing skills.

Mixed Media Drawing

Drawing doesn’t have to be intimidating. Drawing does not have limitations. Students will be introduced to different mixed media approaches to drawing that will spark new creativity in ideas and materials used. From creating 3D drawings to found object drawings and from shellac to materials found in the kitchen, come explore!

 Instructor: Staci Leech

Wednesdays March 3—April 6     6-9pm      $85. Students will provide materials.

 

Figure Drawing

Open studio for those who like to practice, practice and more practice.  We provide the models and easels.

No class on Art Walk nights, April 15 and May 20

Monitor: Robin Hammer

Thursdays      March 25-May 27              6-9pm   $75. Bring your preferred medium & paper.
